Night at the Ballpark

Last night we were graciously offered tickets in a suite at the Rangers game. So, although at 6:30 it was pouring down rain when we left, we trekked off to the ballpark. The tarp was still on the field and we got to see a new event--taking the tarp off and prepping the field! After a 2 1/2 hour rain delay, the first pitch was at 9:30 pm. Of course, the game was a lot of fun topped off with a fireworks show afterwards. We didn't get home until almost 1:30 am! I love that we are at a stage in our life with our children that we can do things like this and it's ok.

Now, about the children. I'm labeling last night the "What were you thinking?!" night for them. At one point, they were standing between two suites under a steel beam with their heads to the ceiling, mouths wide open, catching drops of water in the mouths. Did they not know this water was dripping from an air conditioner???? That time I denied they were my children!

They went inside and got bottles of water which were iced down in a bucket. Both of them opened their waters, took a drink and put it back in the bucket! At least Nathan stood his up, but Daniel just threw it back in. Did they not know this was not their own personal cooler???
The funniest story of the night comes from another girl that was there. We were telling her about a time when a home run ball almost hit me in the head one time when were sitting in centerfield. Luckily, a man a couple of rows ahead of us caught the ball. I told her I would not look this beautiful if he had not caught that ball. She offered to us that her mom had her nose worked on so much that if they took all the money they spent on her nose, it would be a million dollars! Now they call it the Million Doller Nose!
